iMac Intel Core 2 Duo
More speed, more RAM, more screen, more everything! The long awaited "Merom" Intel Core 2 Duo chip has finally made it onto the Apple stage in the form of our new range of iMacs. Delivering a blistering speed increase of up to 50% over its predecessor, the redesigned iMac range now peaks out with a massive 24" LCD screen and is a reported 40% brighter than the 20" iMac model. Also sporting a total of up to 4MB of shared L2 Cache these are new releases that will be particularly impressive on the processing power front.
Another key feature of the Superdrive models is the new ability to address up to 3GB of RAM which makes them a very well priced mid-range graphic design / film editing machine. The 24" unit has an excellent selection of video cards. Using similar technology as the MacPro by way of the NVidia GeForce 7300GT for the standard offering, there is an option allowing an upgrade to the 7600GT that is extremely well priced. Upgrades to 2.33GHz CPU's are also available on selected models along with the introduction of Firewire 800 on the 24" only.
