Overnight saw the release of updated Penryn based Macbook Pro's and Macbooks. Most notable are the substantial price drops across the board. Now more affordable then ever!

Updated MacBook Pro's...

The Macbook Pro's now come with a Penryn based Core 2 Duo processor with up to 2.6GHz with 6MB of L2 Cache. RAM remains at 2GB with a maximum of 4GB total however hardrive capacity has been increased across the board with maximums now reaching 300GB.

Video processing comes from the Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT with up to 512MB memory, which is enormous for a laptop.

Every MacBook Pro now includes a redesigned trackpad as introduced with the Macbook Air incorporating Multi-Touch gesture support for pinch, rotate and swipe, making it more intuitive than ever to zoom and rotate photos in iPhoto or Aperture 2 or browse web pages in Safari.

Xsan 2 & Xserve RAID EOL...

Recently we saw apple update the enterprise SAN storage solution Xsan. It is now fully integrated with Leopard taking complete advantage of core Max OS X Features such as Spotlight. For the first time Xsan is now qualified to work with third party RAID storage hardware, in particular from Promise Technology, Which leads us to the official End-of-life of the Xserve Raid line of products. Apple is now officially reselling the line of Promise VTrak E-Class enclosures.
